The Stourbridge Lion & The Agenoria were made in Stourbridge in the West Midlands and The Lion was the first Steam Engine to run on tracks in the USA in 1829, The Agenoria was working pulling coal from Ashwood Basin Kingswinford to Corbyns Hall Pensnett prior to Stephenson’s Rocket.The object of the project is to promote Tourism by displaying the history and very many enduring skills of the men, women and youth of the Stourbridge area of the Black Country, past and present and our ability to embrace, expand and create new technologies.
