 COLMER - REPORTS

RECORD EASE  PLAY  STATUS OREVOLVING TYRE

This Invention is in limbo waiting for the right time because we invented it too early!.

How many went out and bought a car seat belt before it was made legislation. NONE.

And it is the same for our tyre monitoring invention, so when the time is right I will then take it out of limbo and maybe, just maybe, make some money out of it and save some lives.

Below is some of the literature produced before I realised the problems I faced.

Prof Heinz Wollf

THE INVENTION USES THE STEEL BANDING INHERENT IN MOST TYRES AS AN ENDLESS LOOP MAGNETIC FLUX RECORDER / PLAYER

(PRINCIPALLY THE SAME AS ANY VIDEO OR TAPE RECORDER)

ON EACH REVOLUTION A MAGNET AFFIXED TO THE HUB INSIDE THE TYRE AUTOMATICALLY RECORDS MAGNETIC FLUX INTO THE STEEL BANDING WHEN IT IS AT THE BOTTOM, IT IS PROPORTIONAL TO THE DISTANCE OF THE MAGNET FROM THE STEEL AT THIS POINT.  AS IT CONTINUES TO REVOLVE THE STEEL CONTAINING THE REMNANT FLUX FIRSTLY RETURNS BY WAY OF FREE MECHANICAL MOVEMENT TO ITS UNCOMPRESSED POSITION AND AS IT MOVES PAST A PICKUP COIL NEAR THE TOP IT GENERATES A VOLTAGE DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL TO THE FLUX THAT WAS DEPOSITED, THIS IS CALIBRATED TO DIRECTLY REPORT THE TYRE FOOTPRINT.  AS THE WHEEL CONTINUES TO REVOLVE THE DEPOSITED FLUX IS WIPED OFF AND THE SYSTEM IS AUTOMATICALLY RESET

OR  IN ENGLISH

WE  EFFECTIVELY RECORD THE TYRE FOOTPRINT AT THE BOTTOM,

IT THEN REPORTS TO A SENSOR AT THE TOP,

SIMPLE ELECTRONICS PROCESS

THAT THE TYRE FOOTPRINT WAS WRONG,

IT IS THEN WIPED OFF TO RECORD AGAIN ON THE NEXT ROTATION

TYRE FOOTPRINT MONITORING/WARNING

A UNIQUE NEW INVENTION WHEREBY A REVOLVING VEHICLE TYRE AUTOMATICALLY REPORTS TO A SENSOR AT THE TOP OF THE WHEEL WHEN THE TYRE FOOTPRINT DEVIATES FROM THE PREDETERMINED IDEAL AT THE BOTTOM

An arrangement of magnets and pickup coil with cheap electronic circuitry that would or could use the existing metal reinforcing in a tyre as an endless loop tape recorder to record play and erase magnetic signals that report to a sensor at the top of a wheel that the tyre is flat at the bottom due to under inflation or overloading.

The main thrust of the invention is in utilising and controlling the existing physical properties of a tyre transport a clean detectable signal when the tyre profile is incorrect due to under inflation or overloading or the like.   It is usual practice for manufacturers to fit a tyre with a woven mat of steel inside the running tread of tyres in order to increase the strength and durability of them.   These were the tyres for which the invention was primarily designed.  It was discovered by investigations that steel used for the reinforcement had magnetic properties having a fairly wide hysteresis loop, a reasonable remnance, but in a low coercivity material.   Having and being able to control these properties or being able to gain them in a tyre makes it possible to use tyres as a reusable endless recording loop and this is the embodiment of the invention.

It is an object of our invention to provide the only known method to inform that one or more tyre footprint

is abnormal without using radio frequency or remote batteries.   The system cannot radiate any radio frequency interference as no oscillation transmitters are used and permanent magnets do not use batteries

How it Works

The footprint of a tyre is the area of tyre in contact with the road.   Roughly the size of the palm of a hand the footprint determines the tyre's road handling including the stopping distance and the stability of the tyre on the road.   The recent "How do they do that" television programme demonstrated this.   A deflating tyre will increase the footprint area creating tyre drag and poor fuel economy, uneven tyre wear, excessive heat destabilising the tyre walls which can cause caravan sway and risk the vehicle jack-knifing.  Without intervention the deflating tubeless tyre will break off the wheel rim losing its seal and air pressure and with the subsequent total loss of vehicle handling.

Magnetic flux is recorded in the reinforced outer tyre wall as the region of tyre approximates magnetic source (M) attached to the inner wheel well inside the tyre

The message which travels with the revolving tyre is detected as it passes the sensor.  The  system is then reset.   The sensor plays a warning to alert the driver to the flattened tyre only when the tyre has detected deflation several times thus eliminating false alarms.   The cycle is repeated on the revolving tyre giving repeated and reliable warnings to the driver.

Inserted 19/2/2008 in response to underhand events!

This is temporary - the full and complete story SOON

About 8 years ago I as PIElectronics was approached at an Inventions Show by John Savage who asked whether I or Colin (who worked for me) would have the expertise to solve a problem he had. He highlighted the problem as being that he was involved with selling Runflat inserts whereby the driver did NOT know if the tyre was flat. Any device would ideally be non-radio and passive. It was agreed that we would investigate at no cost to John and we solved the problems. The solution evolved into a product that gained a patent that was eventually published. John and I were unable to agree terms and we parted.

In about April 2007 John Savage made contact again and invited himself and a colleague, a Mr. Mike Clark, to visit me on the pretext that it would be nice to meet up again and that Mike was interested in some of the many other things I had worked on in the past. Sure enough Mike seemed an interesting guy and we did get involved with others in the Doolittle Project, Cutting the story short, Mike Clark made many visits to Camalot Castle.

More recently on 31stJanuary 2008, I had an uninvited visit from Mr. Trevor Chandler (MD) and Mr. Tom Westley (owner of Westley Plastics) who asked many questions about REPORTS technology and wanted to buy ColMerREPORTS because Mike had been employed by John Savage and had, in 6 months, failed to produce a copy of my intellectual property. I refused to sell direct to them and insisted that I would only sell where John Savage would be involved and get some repayment.

I then had a visit on 6th Feb 2008 from Mike and another guy Melvyn asking more questions and admitting that Mike was still working on a system based on ColMerREPORTS and were having problems with "Noise".

Mike said he was there because he was interested in ColMerTech, a different project that I worked on in the past. Believing in his integrity I gave him and Melvyn the background and we chatted for some two hours. Mike stated "I am thinking of paying you the £5k myself for Reports". I said I would not sell to him and that I would only sell if John was involved. They left, Mike saying that he intended to speak to John with a view to John getting involved with ColMerTech and stating that he would persuade John to buy Reports.

I realise in retrospect that just one or two innocuous questions from Melvyn apparently gained him enough insight to get a result and replicate my intellectual property.

www Runflat2000.com is a domain name owned by Mr. John Savage who is now a partner with Westley Plastics West Midlands producing inserts so a vehicle can run with a flat tyre. www.RunflatInternational.com is the domain name of Runflat International Ltd.

I do NOT take things lightly

I now own www.Runflat2000.co.uk & www.RunflatInternational.co.uk and intend to use this website and intend to sell the full and complete technology to others.

Both domain names are for sale.
