Today 19th April 2024 1500hrs- I still don’t know if RGHC is safe or any action is being taken. I have contacted ever so many .gov departments ETC and this site is NOW very LONG complicated.  My head is spinning

The majority of the “Working” staff at RGHC do a brilliant phenomenal job and regularly go above and beyond - for the better. - However most “Management” are shit. On their arses and regularly go above and beyond – to the worst.  Some are now complicit in now 3 potentially deadly or life limiting situations. Mainly due to incompetence, negligence, lack of judgment & no consultation with affected parties.

I Robert Merlyn Farwell T/A PIElectronics Have been dismissed Negligently from Ruskin Glass House College because I shut down (as a matter of safety and urgency) all the Gas fired hot shop glass making equipment that I made and solely maintained and have been responsible for, for the last 15years or so. This was done because Management namely Jonathan Wye (health and safety) who Negligently refused to instruct un-authorised, uninstructed, incompetent personal namely Keith Dawson (maintenance manager) Dave Fellows Malcolm Parkes in good time NOT to meddle when they HAD wilfully powered back up Hot Shop 2 Furnace after it had Failed SAFE due to power outage overnight when it was at 435 dg this is bellow AIT and without any flame failure method in place.

I did not receive any contact or requests to justify my actions from RGHC, indeed the only request was to return the keys. Later I was informed locks had been changed and an outside padlock installed on x HS2 (comprising HS and bronze casting Escape route?) and the hot shop was up and running. NO one - BUT no one including ANY gas safe engineer has authority to power up the equipment I made. Without instruction from ME – NO such instruction has been given or sort in this case.

It is now obvious that RUSKIN must have implemented a corporate cover-up by stopping staff and management involved from receiving correspondences from me on equipment supplied to them by RUSKIN. So www.rghcw.info is NOW being promoted to all.

In short About Robert Merlyn Farwell

For everyone’s information (please read – it’s Relevant interesting and informative) I am Robert Merlyn Farwell born 18/11/1946 age now 77 and have been self-employed for most of my life. My first job was “tecker in” at Tuder Crystle glass works Wordsley age14. I later went self-employed as an industrial ductwork installer in the heating and ventilation sector. Over the early years Gaining more and more knowledge and insights I was able to help the design company produce better systems. I did this for some 25years, at one stage employing 20 installers. One job in a plastic extrusion factory was my life changer.  I flew up to the remote Aberdeen site only to find that the heavy duty anker bolts had not arrived with the ductwork and fan. Long story short – I “invented one there and then” After developing and obtaining a patent I sold a license to Black and decker gaining a large upfront none returnable payment and a potential £3.1m per year income. subsequently I went full inventor. That’s another story (it is available on line)

It was common for me to get a phone call out of the blue from inventors and one day in around 2008/9 I got one from a guy named Richard Golding who wanted advice on a project. Long story short “The DooLittle project was a Crap idea” However we became good friends because he was a local working MASTER glassmaker with his own very advanced energy efficient hot shop studio in the back garden and he had made many WORKING energy efficient advances in his glassmaking equipment and had connections with Keith Brookhurst at Ruskin. Long story short His unique furnaces were extremely well conceived and built, however the unique ingenus concept behind his gloryhole “I nicknamed Hedghog” required much development.  Richard gained a contract to build Ruskin brand new glassmaking setups. (Until July 2023 known as HS1 & HS2). I “Merlyn” agreed to help manufacture and install. We agreed that if I took the unique concept finalizing developing and manufactured and install 4 glory holes in Ruskin and manufacture 1 Large & 1 smaller for Okra Glass at cost – I could then retain any intellectual property contained therein or gleaned in the processes.

Somehow, I found myself maintaining said bespoke equipment at Ruskin under an evolved 12 monthly retainer invoice. Over the many years, units have worn out and been rebuilt and at one point, I as PIElectronics became Gas safe registered and stripped out both HS1 & HS2 gas mains and re-designed them under guidance from My gas safe guy together with an inspector who was there to evaluate me as to competency. I was instructed (as is CALLED for in the standard regs in a teaching establishment) to incorporate a solenoid valve in the main gas inlet and emergency STOP buttons in both workshops. However, I later gained authority from the inspector to make the solenoid valve inoperative. The new gas pipework installations were signed off by my qualified Gas Safe engineer and the report was supplied to Ruskin.

About 3years after first installations all flame failure devices failed. At about £1k a pop  I devised a unique cheap alternative method and equipment that resides with me in my workshop.  

The furnaces Richard designed and the gloryholes I designed and installed in Ruskin I contend are the most energy efficient in the world saving many - many £10k.
